Today we picked up bikes for us since the kids have some already. It is hard to keep up with them once they are on wheels. Yes you might have seen me run and yelling for the girls to stay where they are or come back, and of course they ignored me. I thought why not get a bike for us so that we can keep up with the kids and in turn get some much needed and wanted exercise.

I am now the proud owner of a bike and I have not had one for a long time. I don’t want to say as it might be scary to write this number down but it is in the double digits. Hubby built the bike and I have pleased to say that I took it for a test run.

My Plan of Action:

1. I will weigh myself to see how much I am and all my other things I should worry about. Waist and other measurements.

2. Eat well

3. Don’t consume too many sweets or alcohol

4. Get plenty of exercise and now it can be bike riding.

The kids were so happy that I had a bike they ran along side of me. Tomorrow we are off for a family bike ride to celebrate and to get more experience with our new bikes.

Join Me

Why don’t you join me in getting fit. Get on your bike and have some fun with the family. Working on fitness while you and the kids are having family time will allow you to get fit and have fun at the same time. You won’t even notice that it is hard work.

Do your measurements and weight like I will be. You don’t have to share it with anyone but you. It is a nice idea to know what you were before you started this fitness plan or lifestyle change. I am not going to do too much other than adding more activity into my day and of course eat well and don’t eat bad foods.

The plus side of bicycle riding is that is cheap. After you have paid for your bike and of course you don’t need a fancy or expensive one to get started. You can even have an exercise bike at home that allows you to not leave the house. Do whatever that works for you and of course is cost effective. Project Slinky is all about doing things for little or no money.

End Date

I would like to see how much I have improved my fitness by the end of the year. By the 31st of December 2014 I hope to see a different me, but at the very least my fitness or strength has improved. I would like to drop kg’s/pounds and of course be really slinky and toned but I am happy to work towards this goal. I know that you need to do things at a steady pace and rushing with fitness is not a good idea.

Please feel free to write into us and let us know how you are going with your exercise, biking or walking. Whatever you are up to we would love to hear from you. Hope that you are inspired to get active and by December 2014 we will be healthier versions of ourselves.
